What you will do:

Budgeting and Financial Management (40% time)

  •  Oversee day-to-day project finances, keeping budgets up to date in WRI's financial software.
  •  Deliver monthly updates on budgets to Project Directors and Managers to alert them of funding targets and other financial matters.
  •  Oversee delivery of projects against 5-year output-based budget, ensuring fiscal accountability, and overseeing P4G's financial reporting and financial audits
  •  Lead and provide input on behalf of the Center into institutional quarterly budget reviews
  •  Develop and implement P4G's annual budgets linked to workplan and result framework deliverables and contribute to the long-term financial strategy of P4G, including the development of new proposal budgets and financial growth strategies.

Donor and Grants Management (15% time)

  •  Collaborate with P4G team to ensure compliance with terms and conditions of funding awards and communicating with donors as needed.
  •  Oversee the creation and submission of financial reports to all donors

Subgrants and Contracts (20% time)

  •  Process and maintain subgrant and contract agreements with partners, including administering payments, and amending agreements as needed.
  •  Monitor sub-awardee compliance with administrative grant requirements, including the timely submission of reports and audits.

Operations and Administration (25% time)

  •  Supervise operations staff to ensure the timely and accurate submission of progress and financial reports as well as compliance with internal budgeting, contract, and procurement processes and deadlines.
  •  Provide strategic operations advice to P4G Global Director in resolving operational issues and mitigating operational risks.
  •  Coordinate with team and HR on recruitment of new personnel and support onboarding of new staff and consultants.
  •  Provide support coordinating internal and external events, workshops, and conferences, as needed.
  •  Review and make recommendations on internal systems to support and improve efficiencies.

What you will need:

  •  Education: You have a completed bachelor's degree.
  •  Experience:
    •  7+ years full-time relevant work experience, including in operations, financial management and/or program management of a non-profit international program delivering in Asia, Africa or Latin America.
    •  You have experience making independent decisions in complex situations related to financial management, compliance, and in other operational situations.
    •  You have experience in managing international development assistance budgets, contracts and programs funded by multiple donors with budgets in excess of 5 million USD.
    •  You have experience solving complex problems within programmatic cycles related to budgeting, compliance, and process development and improvement.
    •  Experience working with a geographically dispersed team.
  •  Languages: You have verbal and written proficiency in English.
  •  Requirements: Existing work authorization is required for candidates based in Kenya.
