Purpose:
Responsible for bodywork on the vehicle and required to strip, repair, replace, fit and adjust body panels after accident damage or modification. This includes repairing body panels, refitting components, testing electrical circuits after reassembly, and checking body electricals and management systems and components.
Primary Responsibilities
- Repairing damage to metal, plastic, and fiberglass panels with relevant fillers.
- Determining damage and recommended repair procedure.
- Removing damaged panels & fixing dents.
- Carry out oxy acetylene welding, thermal cutting, and thermal heating procedures.
- Carry out manual arc welding procedures.
- Carry out gas metal arc (MIG) welding procedures
- Carry out spot welding procedures.
- Remove and refit mechanical and electrical components.
- Any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
Academic Qualifications
- Minimum of O- level certificate.
- Government Grade Test 1 Fitter and above.
- Driver’s License – Heavy Commercial Vehicles.
Experience
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
