Role Context:

This position is part of HR operations for Kenya and will be tasked to design and deliver a great employee experience which empowers our employees to do great work and enables the business to scale. The team's core deliverables include onboarding, offboarding, leave management, payroll and benefits management, data analysis, compliance and HR frontline service delivery.

Your Role:

  • Works individually and with a team to identify and eliminate any barriers to accuracy, productivity, and quality
  • As HR Associate, you will support the development and execution of KOKO’s human resources processes and serves as a business partner for all people-related initiatives and issues
  • Works in a fast-paced operational environment and employs rapid, accurate judgment in the face of ambiguity or broken processes
  • Manages confidential and sensitive employee information and adheres to strict data privacy standards

What You Will Do:

  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to payroll deductions, transfers, promotions, and terminations
  • Provide support in the compilation of payroll inputs such as salary advances, new joiners, and exits
  • Support the payroll process by ensuring all additions and changes are tracked in the existing trackers
  • Update and maintain existing HR systems, records, and reports with accurate employee data
  • Manage and own seamless offboarding process and ensure appreciable employee experience upon separation
  • Conduct exit surveys for employees leaving the organization and processing their benefits
  • Take ownership of management, administration, and processing of employee benefits (i.e., medical Insurance and leave)
  • Respond to employee queries on HR helpdesk in a timely and accurate manner
  • Actively liaise with key stakeholders to enhance HR Ops service delivery
  • Providing administrative support to any of the other HR functions, as necessary and in line with business requirements.

What You Will Bring to KOKO

  • University degree required and Membership with IHRM
  • 4+ years of experience in HR
  • 2+ years of experience with the backend of HRIS platforms, such as Bamboo HR, Namely, Workday, or SAP
  • Expert Proficiency with MS Office tools and HR-related software platforms, G-Suites ( sheets, documents, slides)
  • Analytical ability is greatly desired
  • A customer service orientation, with a proven ability to manage customer contacts in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to identify process defects, make recommendations, and implement improvements
