Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will include: 

• Assessing community nutrition needs; 
• Following-up on discharge cases from hospitals; 
• Screening for deficiency diseases and chronic illnesses related to nutrition in a community setting and referring them to various existing programs; 
• Collecting data on nutrition and dietetics; 
• Promoting baby friendly community initiatives; conducting community growth, monitoring and promotion activities; 
• Assisting in community interventions on diet and lifestyle disease prevention and control; 
• Promoting optimal infant and young child feeding programmes; 
• Assisting in running out patient supplementary feeding programs and outpatient therapeutic feeding programs; 
• Following up and counselling of patients in home-based disease management; and carrying out nutrition health education. 

Requirements for Appointment:

• Diploma in Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition or Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognized institution; 
• Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution and;
• Registration by the Council of the Institute of Nutritionists and Dieticians (CIND)

Duties and responsibilities

• Receiving patients at hospital reception,
• Registering and booking appointment for patients to clinics and consultants,
• Control of reception, registration and appointment procedures;
• Storing and retrieving medical records and documents,
• Supervision of staff in the section;
• Maintenance of bed bureau and waiting list procedures for inpatients;
• Supervision of storage and retrieval of medical records;
• Coordinating the collection of medical statistics from the various sections of the department.
• Supervision of coding and indexing of diseases and international classification of procedures in medicine;

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the County Coordinator will be responsible for:-

• Implementing policies, programmes, standards, guidelines on the mandate of the Fund programmes;
• Conducting Civic Education and community sensitization through public education and advocacy; 
• Promoting value addition initiatives for products and services of affirmative action groups;
• Promoting socio cultural development and nurturing of talent for affirmative action groups;
• Collaborating with stakeholder engagement in identification of projects;
• Coordinating public education and advocacy on enhancement of access to services for survivors of gender-based violence, female genital mutilation, child marriages or forced marriages;
• Receiving, review and recommend project proposals to the board for approval;
• Developing and implement proposals for establishment of rescue centers, legal aid centers, drug and substance abuse rehabilitation and counselling centers in conjunction with the relevant government agencies;
• Implementing disbursement of bursaries and scholarships to access education opportunities for affirmative action groups;
• Undertaking civic education and community sensitization on the National Government affirmative action programmes and policies;
• Coordinating project formulation and implementation for affirmative action groups;
• Ensuring projects recommended for funding are guided by national development priorities and comply with the object and purpose of the Fund;
• Undertaking capacity building for affirmative action groups;
• Developing and execute project designs, work plans and budget on programmes; 
• Implementing partnerships and linkages with relevant training providers; and
• Implement the guidelines for approval of projects. 

Qualifications

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Project Planning and Management, Education, Development Studies, Community Development, Entrepreneurship, Gender Studies, Business Management/Administration or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; 
• Proficiency in computer application skills; and
• Met the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
