Job objective

As the The EPZ Manager you will be fully responsible for the entire EPZ Area (covering the Veg and Roses Packhouses) and to ensure that Industry and Company standards are adhered to, with any corrective action implemented. This includes overseeing site logistical operations, including equipment, machinery, and fabric maintenance.

The EPZ Manager will also oversee the expansion of new facilities and project management

Your tasks and responsibilities

•  Ensure facilities are clean and well run while ensuring high hygiene standards are maintained.
•  Ensure that the packhouse comply with all the applicable local and international standards.
•  Liaise with farm managers to ensure that crop harvesting and deliveries to the pack house are efficient and timely.
•  Monitor raw material utilization; ensure that waste/rejects are within acceptable limits and all dumps are authorized.
•  Effectively communicate with the sales team on stock levels, labour numbers, pack plan, and outload volume and packhouses packing capacity
•  Co-ordinate all preparations for audits and customer visits along with the Technical Teams
•  Facilitate daily logistics for Shipments to Airport and check shipments of both veg and roses to ensure no discrepancies arise.
•  Develop work plans and budgets.
•  Ensure that the packhouse management systems (Veg and Roses Manager) are used appropriately and that the reports generated from them are a true reflection of the packhouse operations.
•  Arrange for prompt repair and maintenance of Packhouse equipment and external machinery - Cold rooms, Water system and Solar system.
•  Monitor the efficiency of the cold rooms to ensure that the specified temperatures for the various products are maintained while ensuring to maintain the physical condition of the facility.
•  Liaise with Head Office for the procurement of all materials required for maintenance.
•  Manage and oversee Packhouse teams including management of casual staff and permanent employee numbers - Casual labour recruitment, Leave, Salaries, Overtime.
•  Maintain staff discipline and welfare in accordance with company policy.
•  Oversee performance management, workforce planning and recruitment within the EPZ.
•  Organise and follow-up on weekly meetings to discuss various issues at EPZ including Labour, Security etc.
•  Ensuring a timely communication on each ripening process. Follow agreed format on communication.
•  Ensure raw material with correct quality attributes for ripening is used i.e., correct dry matter content, correct size profile etc. in liaison with the QA manager.
•  Ensure stocks for ripening consumables e.g., ethylene is adequate. Observe a re-order level for the consumables.
•  Liaise with maintenance manager to ensure scheduled maintenance plan for the ripening chambers is followed.
•  Maintain and updated ripening unit Planned Preventative maintenance data.
•  In charge of the overall security of the EPZ area while enduring adherence to EPZ/Customs access control required for all EPZ facilities.
•  Coordinate all the transportation requirements of the EPZ section, including logistical operations, release of trucks on schedule.

Your profile

•  Degree in Horticulture/ Agriculture or a related field.
•  Over 10 years of direct hands-on experience in a busy Packhouse/Site/Plant environment and fully conversant with factory operations in the food processing industry
•  A specialist in process engineering and process management with experience in organization,
• production, and supply chain management
•  Self-motivated, strategic thinker with excellent crisis management skills and able to bring solutions to the table.
•  Ardent advocate of systems and procedures, good manufacturing standards and other social welfare standards
•  Fully proficient in Kaizen, Lean management, and processing techniques

Job objective

As the Senior Mechanic, you will be in responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of vehicles.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Handling transport and workshop department repairs as instructed by the transport / workshop manager.
• Repairing and maintaining all motor vehicles, tractors, and farm machineries.
• Repairing and maintaining various types of machinery and equipment, including engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, pumps, and other mechanical components.
• Troubleshooting skills to identify the root causes of mechanical problems and develop effective solutions to resolve them efficiently.

Your profile

•  Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/ Automotive technology or a related field is preferred.
•  5-10 years of experience in automotive repair and maintenance in a senior mechanic position.
•  Extensive experience as a senior mechanic, preferably in a variety of automotive or mechanical settings.
•  Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and electrical systems.
•  Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostic tools and equipment.
•  Experience with computerized diagnostic systems and software.
•  Familiarity with welding and fabrication techniques may be required.
•  Ability to interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.

Job objective

As the Deputy Security Manager, you will work hand in hand with the Security Manager to ensure the security and safety of the company’s property and interests within the limits of the established AAA. Growers’ policies and procedures.

You will also coordinate security related activities with the security supervisors, guards, and managers from other departments.

Your tasks and responsibilities

•  Enforce company rules and regulations and a member of the facility compliance team and sits in the Safety, Health & Environmental Committee (SHE).
•  Administration of security staff under his command, resources and other security equipment allocated to the security department.
•  Assist the Farms Security Managers in formulating security policies and procedures concerning the farm.
•  Reviews security procedures from time to time and advise the management for implementation approval.
•  Conduct security survey within the premises as instructed by the security manager.
•  Detecting crime and putting in place crime preventive measures
•  Ensure liaison with external agencies (Police and other Law enforcers) is well coordinated.
•  Ensure that the relevant security documentation at the gates and in the office is properly done.
•  Ensure security incidents and operations returns are done effectively.
•  Regularly conduct risk assessment in the premises and give appropriate recommendations on mitigations.
•  Assist the security manager in ensuring recruitment, vetting, and training, retention of competent and well-motivated staff within the department.
•  Responsible for maintaining and enforcing Security staff discipline in his section.
•  Ensure the security incidents are well documented. Submit summary of the daily incident report to the security manager or General Manager at the end of each shift.
•  Ensure adherence to the security patrol intelligence system to beef up security operations within the farm.
•  Conduct investigations in case of theft, motor vehicle accidents and any other incidents occurring within the premises as directed by Security Manager.

Job objective

• AAA Growers – Pure Harvest is a division within our AAA Group that deals with avocadoes for exports. We produce a variety of avocados known as Hass avocado. The growing started in 2018 in Simba Farm as a small scale and continued to grow. Demand by our clients led to addition of the production volume that AAA exports and this has created a need for us to expand our orchard to be able to cater for the large volume of orders coming in.
• As the Plant Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring that the system at the packhouse is running and maintained properly ensuring the basic safety checks are in place. You will also oversee the machine operation and perform general machine housekeeping and maintenance.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the machine operation and to ensure the machine is kept up to the best standard possible in terms of GMP and general maintenance.
• Ensure plant adheres to safety and environmental rules.
• Ensuring provided PPE is maintained and used as prescribed.
• Control further processing of products until conditions likely to cause non-conformities are addressed.
• Calibrating the machine to ensure required productivity levels and adherence to quality measures and standards are met.

As the Compliance Officer, you will ensure that all the farm technical documents such as harvesting records, spray records, fertigation/irrigation records, pests and diseases records, scouting records, weather records, post-harvest records, chemical handlers medical and cholinesterase tests records are up to date, well-kept and are always accessible

Your tasks and responsibilities

•  To ensure that the management is well informed of all technical aspects of the farm.
•  To ensure that plant Protection Products are used at the recommended rates to ensure proper pests and diseases control and to avoid development of resistance by pests and diseases.
•  To ensure that chemicals with different modes of action are used and alternated accordingly against pests and diseases as a crop protection management strategy.
•  To ensure that all employees are trained in all technical aspects such as the use of cleaning detergents and cleaning of harvesting equipment.
•  To ensure that the farm meets and passes all audit standards such as ETI, Global Gap, M&S F2F, WFA, KEPHIS/HCD farm audits and any other audit which may be requested by the customers.
•  To ensure that all monitoring systems for notifiable pests such as Leaf miner, False codling Moth (FCM), Helicoverpa armigera, Fall Army worm (FAW), etc. are always in place and properly located,
•  To ensure collection of data on the traps of the notifiable pests, analysis and advising the management of the situation. This requires raising of alarms to forestall a situation where product may be rejected/destroyed by the relevant Government agencies, such as KEPHIS and by equivalent bodies of the importing countries.
•  To ensure that the farm uses only approved Plant Protection Products (PPPs) by PCBP and products which meet the customer requirements.
•  To ensure that the farm is kept clean in terms of hygiene requirements and standards by strictly following the guidelines of the hygiene manual.
•  To ensure that you participate and walk through the farm during the weekly hygiene audits and achieve the required scores.
•  To ensure regular measurements of the PH of the spray solution to ensure that it is within PH 5.5 – 6.0
