About the role

To contribute to the performance of the Sales & Distribution organization by implementing and executing a Territory  Sales & Distribution plan that meets brand, volume, merchandising and promotion objectives for each outlet in order to achieve the overall area or channel trade marketing objectives

The Field Sales Representative will cover the retail outlets on the basis of a pre-assigned route/plan.

Key Accountabilities:

• Develop and implement a territory trade marketing plan which meets the objectives of the area trade marketing plan in the areas of brand, volume, merchandising and promotion.
• Ensure that the territory distribution objectives of brand availability, stock holding and stock rotation are achieved.
• Ensure that price is in line with the company strategy
• Implement promotions, develop and execute Merchandising Programmes at POS with optimum use of resources and materials in order to achieve the highest in-store visibility and sales performance for the strategic brands.

• Working with the central D&T Finance team to ensure oversight and coordination of the market D&T budget AOP (annual operating plan)  and financial O&R (Opportunities and Risks) reporting. 
• Oversight of project budgets for in scope service delivery / enterprise projects and discrete pieces of work carried out in market and managed through the local AOP.  
• Ensuring the right CAPEX and budget approval processes within the markets, and feeding back to central project teams to ensure accurate milestone reporting at agreed frequencies.
• Ensuring that locally managed purchase orders and good receipting processes are carried out in a timely and compliant manner  and working in partnership with the Regional IT Cost Center Manager for those purchase orders managed centrally by the Operational Excellence team.
• Identify and execute against cost optimization in the delivery of services and enable company cost reduction

Markets

Markets : Kenya and Uganda

The role will be based in Kenya or Uganda market but have accountability and responsibility for IT operations and technology engagement within  both Kenya and Uganda markets.  It is expected that the role supports and has a high level insight of the complexities of both markets and also contributes to other activities (Championship Model) across the regional / global sites either virtually or through limited travel and other activities across the wider Regional D&T EE team.

Purpose of Role

The primary function of this role is to support the markets (Kenya and Uganda) to ensure a high-quality employee experience related to D&T Technologies and Services in the region. 

Role Responsibilities

• Manage local 3rd party technical service
• Ensure high standards of D&T Technology Engagement (end user experience of D&T tools, services and processes) are maintained across all markets within the region
• Ensure financial management of BAU AOP meets required standards of forecast accuracy and O&R reporting
• Ensure requests from initiatives requiring support are addressed in a timely manner by acting as an escalation point within the markets (Kenya and Uganda) for both users in the market requiring support from global teams, and also for global support teams requiring feedback / input from market or market users.
• Ensure Information Management & Security agenda is followed and compliant within D&T scope at market level

Purpose Of Role

• The project manager will enable the realization of significant long-term benefits through their leadership of the Kenya market. By leading change across all levels of their organization, the role will drive adoption of new processes, data & technology solutions with a focus on two key areas:
• The project manager will bring Kenya leadership on the Voyager change journey, engaging and influencing managers & leaders within their organization to pro-actively drive adoption of new processes, systems, ways of working & achieve operational stability from go live. They will ensure Voyager is integrated within strategy & planning within their market / function.
• The project manager will create & execute the change journey for the employees in the Kenya market, ensuring local users understand, feel confident and are ready for the transition to new technology solutions, enhanced data, simplified processes, and new ways of working.
• The project manager will report to the Finance Director, KBL with a significant collaboration with Voyager’s Regional Change Lead. The role will be responsible for the identified Market Trainer. The role will collaborate with the wider programme team – for example, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Data Support and Testers to execute change plans and support training activities. They will also support the management and delivery of the local testing plans and ensure that local data migration is validated. Main stakeholders are end users, managers, and market / function leaders.

Key Accountabilities
Create, execute and manage a change plan that drives end user adoption of Voyager-driven changes for market/function including the following:

• Engagement & influence of market leadership: ensure consistent understanding of Voyager (e.g. scope, benefits, changes, timelines, etc.) across the relevant leadership team, resulting in 1) positive, pro-active sponsorship of the programme to their teams & 2) full integration within the business plan.
• The project manager will develop a deep understanding of the business & the voyager business transformation to enable them to confidently articulate how process, system and data changes will impact their teams. Working with the wider Voyager Project team, they will build and lead execution of change mitigation activities and plans (e.g., communications, training) with the goal of ensuring adoption of process & system solutions from go live.
• Design & execute engagement & communication strategy to communicate changes, benefits, and plans to end users, leveraging relevant channels e.g., Viva Engage, email, Town Halls, face to face briefings & local networks for support. Establish a two-way mechanism, ensuring effective communication to & from the market to identify & mitigate emerging challenges.
• Support Regional/ Training Lead in conducting the training needs assessment for the KBL Market.
• Support the onboarding of market trainers, help them identify the Market training needs, mapping of local user groups to learning courses & execution of training plans.
• Support the localization and validation of end user role mapping for the KBL Market, ensuring people have the right system access at the right time to sustain day to day operational activities and do their job effectively. Through partnership with and guidance from the Global team, evaluate the segregation of duties and SARBOX analysis, ensuring end user compliance with local regulations.
• Coordinate & report local readiness activities leveraging globally provided tools. Activities include:
  • Management of local test plan and resources for User Assessment Testing (UAT).
  • Support in UAT, as required.
  • Validation of test scenarios, as required.
  • Validation of local data quality and migration, in alignment with global data strategy, as required.
  • Provision of local input into Readiness Assessment.

Qualifications / Experience

• Demonstrated experience in influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with and through others to ensure delivery of project outcomes. Experience in leading and implementing change management initiatives.
• Strong business acumen. Finance Degree preferred.

PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE

• Deliver Procurement outcomes for Diageo within one or more categories of spend, through effective business partnering and collaboration across Procurement CoEs.  This includes (but is not limited to):
• Applying strategic procurement excellence, through creation of or support in creation of category strategies built on Diageo’s best methods, standards and tools, to deliver procurement value.
• Leading or supporting Sourcing activities for specific categories of spend procured in Market.
• Supporting end-to-end execution of category strategies, working with global and other market category professionals in line with strategy.
• Developing subject-matter expertise for specific spend categories, supporting collection and leverage of supply market expertise and clear direction to Analysts for development and application of supply market data and information to strategy development and sourcing.
• Work dynamically across categories in flexible resource pools where they are already established & pro-actively look for opportunities where flexible resourcing could be set-up. This is a resourcing approach intended to smooth out peaks & troughs of demand and drive accelerated career development.
• The Market Category Specialist is accountable for active participation in a global community of procurement professionals in one or more spend categories, including joining regular meetings, supporting alignment around strategy, supporting development of own and others’ capabilities & expertise and sharing of best practices.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

General

• Applied expertise.  Build, manage and grow expertise in one or more spend categories, including understanding of supply markets, suppliers, stakeholders and how to negotiate supply and demand.  Become a subject-matter expert and share with others in a global community of category professionals.  Apply expertise and standards to identify and win new value for Diageo.
• Category excellence.  Lead development of best in class market data and knowledge, category strategies and sourcing events by applying Diageo standards for category excellence.  Contribute to improvement of existing and development of new tools & techniques.

Category strategy

• Business partnering.  In close alignment with category managers, develop and grow relationships with stakeholders, partners and suppliers for deeper insights into needs and capabilities; articulate requirements and deliver insights for greater value from stakeholder collaboration.
• Strategy development.  For one or more spend categories, support development and evolution of category strategies by (1) capturing, articulating and confirming business requirements; (2) researching and analysing market dynamics; and (3) assessing opportunities and proposing solutions.
• Best in class capabilities.  Generate insights and opportunities from internal and external benchmarking, develop cost models to consider scenarios with suppliers and stakeholders and build & evolve analytics capabilities that allow regular review and improvement of strategies.
• Strategy execution.  Support end to end execution of category strategies across geographical and organisational boundaries.  Track and monitor progress against performance goals, providing detailed, monthly KPI data (including reconciliation to category team tracking projects, savings, supplier performance, etc.).  Work in close collaboration with other Market colleagues aligned behind relevant strategies and facilitate escalations. 
• Support to Global CoEs.  Support Global CoEs with strategy development, including for CM4 (global agreements), CM3 (above-region leverage) and CM2 (above-market leverage), as required.  Especially, ensure that Market and local market data and requirements are addressed fully.

Sourcing

• Market sourcing.  Execute sourcing activities for CM2 (above-market leverage) and CM1 (truly market-specific ) spend categories.  Engage community members as required, apply Diageo Procurement best practice standard
• Market contracting.  For relevant sourcing projects, support effective planning, preparation and application of the Negotiation Toolkit.  Support category managers in negotiating and closing contracts.  Execute contracts into the system.  Manage contracts and contract compliance (Diageo stakeholder compliance and Supplier compliance) through contract lifecycles.

Risk management

• Mitigate strategic risks.  As part of category strategy execution, identify, record and follow-up risk mitigations in line with category strategies and best practice.
• Mitigate sourcing risks.  Identify corporate, supply, supplier and other risks associated with sourcing activities, put mitigations in place and execute them, engaging all relevant stakeholders, partners and suppliers to ensure the mitigations are successful.
• Apply and improve tools & techniques.  Apply Diageo best practice standard, ensuring the most recent and relevant approaches are always applied; use formal governance and peer review to ensure the quality and efficacy of risk management; contribute to development of standards.

Supplier relationship management

• Supplier relationship.  Establish standards, ways of working and trust relationships with market suppliers in relevant categories; ensure Diageo best practices are applied and that there is a good foundation for strong performance, risk mitigation and rapid resolution of issues.
• Supplier performance.  Set KPIs, driving consistency across suppliers and markets, improving the value of data generated and applied and liaise with Supply sites for resolution of escalated issues.
• Supplier development.  In line with Procurement strategic supplier strategies, collaborate with suppliers to unlock breakthrough opportunities for the business; stimulate supplier capabilities to generate ideas for the future.

ENTRY LEVEL REQUIREMENTS (CAPABILITIES, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE)

• Graduate qualification and member of professional body, e.g., CIPS
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Procurement, Finance, FMCG Commercial or other relevant role, with subject-matter expertise in supply markets and spend categories relevant to the role
• Demonstrated performance in projects and in cross-market teams, experience developing and executing category and procurement strategies, managing and negotiating with suppliers
• Strong analytical and financial awareness including a strong understanding of AOP requirements and financial goals & value drivers relevant to the categories in scope
• Track record of generating insights to influence decision-making; good commercial acumen
