Responsibilities

Specifically, responsibilities of this position include: 

• Refine the market linkages strategy and roadmap. Map the core barriers to our clients’ success, current  stakeholders interested in maintaining and/or impacting the status quo, and approaches to change. This role requires someone who can see a big vision, as well as targeted opportunities to make lasting change. 
• Market Analysis: conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges within the East African market landscape with an emphasis on Rwanda, Kenya, Ethiopia, and South Sudan.
• Strategic Partnerships: Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry associations, NGOs, and private sector organizations.
• Market Linkages: Oversee Market Linkages implementation across countries, including: Facilitating connections between producers, suppliers, distributors, and consumers to enhance market access and optimize value chains.
• Capacity Building: Lead Market linkage training needs to support local businesses and entrepreneurs to improve their market competitiveness and expand their market reach.
• Innovation: Explore innovative solutions and leverage technology to enhance market linkages and streamline business processes. Always look out for what works and what does not and change strategy/processes/systems accordingly. 
• Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including investment, MEL, and communication Departments to align market linkage strategies with overall Inkomoko objectives.
• Monitoring and Evaluation: Engage MEL to establish market linkage metrics to monitor the effectiveness of market linkage initiatives and track progress toward goals.
• Reporting: Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key insights, achievements, and areas for improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience (7+ years) in market development, business development, or related roles, preferably within the East African context.
• Strong understanding of market dynamics, value chains, and business ecosystems in East Africa.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities and drive results.
• Proficiency in data analysis and report writing.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in French, Swahili and Arabic is a plus.
• Ability to travel within the region as required.

Inkomoko is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Financial Planning and Analysis to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the CFO, the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, will be responsible for leading the financial planning and analysis function across all countries within the organization

The primary goal will be to oversee the Organization's financial activities and provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

FINANCIAL PLANNING, & ANALYSIS (40% time)

• Lead the financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning. 
• Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making and strategic initiatives. 
• Prepare regular financial reports and analyze them for senior management and the board of directors. 
• Analyze key performance indicators and provide insights to optimize performance and achieve financial targets. 
• Collaborate with department heads to analyze and interpret financial data for business planning. 
• Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes to assess potential impacts on the Organization's financial position. 
• Lead the annual budgeting process and provide variance analysis.

TREASURY PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT  (30%)

• Monitor and manage the organization's cash flow to ensure there is enough liquidity for day-to-day operations and to meet financial obligations. 
• Manage all aspects of the Organization's treasury function, including cash management, cash forecasting, liquidity management, and risk management. 
• Assess and mitigate financial risks such as interest rate risks, foreign exchange risks, and liquidity risks to protect the organization's financial health. 
• Develop and implement investment strategies to optimize returns on excess cash and ensure the organization's financial stability. 
• Develop and implement treasury policies and procedures to ensure effective cash flow management and financial stability. 
• Manage the organization's capital structure by determining the appropriate mix of debt and equity to achieve the organization's financial goals. 
• Monitor and analyze financial market trends to optimize investment strategies and minimize financial risks. 
• Collaborate with internal teams to support strategic initiatives and provide financial insights and recommendations.

LEADERSHIP & OPERATIONS (30% time)

• Supervise the Treasury, Budgeting and Grant Reporting Managers to ensure smooth and coordinated financial operations 
• Develop finance team capacity and performance management;
• Liaise with department directors to plan, report, and guide in effective financial management; serve as a member of various leadership teams.
• Engage in a process of continuous improvement of the Finance Department, ensuring Inkomoko finance operations are lean, effective, and reflecting our changing programs

Minimum Qualifications

The leader poised for success in this role will have technical skills in finance, plus alignment with company vision/values, and ability to lead a technical team. Successful candidates must navigate fast-paced environments with enthusiasm and incredible attention to detail. Minimum qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. MBA, CPA or CFA designations preferred. 
• Ten-plus years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.

About the Opportunity

We are pleased to announce the Driver vacancy within the Administration & Operations Department. Reporting to the Administration & Procurement Officer, the position holder will support our team in the day today operations and movement of staff. This position is located in Kakuma- Kenya.

Responsibilities

The position responsibilities will include but are not limited to;

• Drive authorized Inkomoko staff to and from various destinations in and around the Inkomoko operating camps  and any other assigned destinations.
• Run office errands as required
• Safely drive assigned office vehicle, following set rules and regulations
• Ensure the compliance to the fleet management policy
• Conducting basic maintenance checks to ensure vehicle safety and hygiene
• Perform both preventative and regular maintenance on assigned vehicles and ensure that proper detailing is performed.
• Ensure that the vehicle is always properly equipped with spare tire, tool kit, jacks, wheel spanner, tow rope, jump lead, belts, fire extinguisher, and first aid toolboxes
• Regularly keep vehicle maintenance records and fuel consumption records
• Schedule and update major car service appointments and report any issues
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the immediate line supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who will navigate fast-paced and resource-constrained environments with commitment and patience. The ideal candidate will have an impeccable driving record, knows the  communities in which we operate, and can have both mechanical skills and good judgment, additionally the candidate should fulfill the following requirements:

• Must be a member of the Turkana West Transport & Drivers Association 
• Valid driver’s license issued in Kenya 
• Basic mechanic training is required. 
• Clean driving record, without any accidents in the past two years 
• Previous training in defensive driving and driving for security of passengers 
• Basic writing, reading skills and basic education 
• Good communicator in Swahili and English

About the Opportunity

The Senior Information Security Officer (SISO) will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of an organization's information and technology systems. The Senior Information Security Officer plays a crucial role in safeguarding an organization's information assets and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data.

Responsibilities

• Information Security Strategy and Governance:
  • Develop and implement an organization-wide information security strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain information security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and direction to senior management on information security matters.

• Risk Management and Compliance:

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Advanced degree and professional certification (CompTia S+, CISSP, CISM, CISA, CISO) is preferred.
• 5-7 years of experience in information security, with a proven track record of progressively increasing responsibility and leadership.
• In-depth knowledge of information security principles, practices, technologies, and standards.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to information security (e.g., Local DPA, GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC1 & SOC2).
• Proficiency in security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint protection, encryption, SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), and DLP (Data Loss Prevention) solutions.

Responsibilities

FINANCE & REPORTING (50%)

• Oversee overall company finance operations, and liaise with group-level management for consolidation and consistency
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance sheet, cash flow, Budget performance report) incompliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for reporting and consolidation across the group
• Provide the support and information required for preparation of Funder reports 
• Perform financial management duties including review of financial data, reporting, and assessing the financial health of country-wide operations
• Review general ledger transactions on a monthly basis to ensure completeness, cut off, occurrence and accuracy of recorded transactions.
• Ensure the loan transactions are appropriately captured including but not limited to disbursements, repayments, interest accrual and computation of expected credit losses 
• Conduct a month-end closing process, and ensure all accounts are reconciled 
• Supervise AR/AP staff to ensure client billing and payments are timely processed.
• Supervise AR/AP staff to ensure that suppliers provide all supporting documents and procurement policy complied with in all purchases.
• Prepare annual financial statements following the end of each financial year. 
• Advise the procurement team to ensure both value for money and tax compliance in the various purchases.
• Review and process payroll payments on a monthly basis
• Ensure all in country clients and supplier contracts are properly managed

COMPLIANCE & REGULATION (20%)

• Ensure compliance with tax, banking, and other regulatory requirements 
• Enforce company fiscal policies across all areas of operation
• Maintain all internal controls and elevate any deviations therewith to the Finance Director/CFO.
• Regularly update the Financial Director and CFO of any new or change in laws and regulations affecting the company’s operations. 
• Ensure financial transactions are accounted for in accordance with company’s policies and IFRS
• Be the lead in-country person for the annual statutory, tax and regulator audits

CASH & ASSET MANAGEMENT (10%)

• Prepare cost estimates for funds required by the company on a monthly basis and the actual usage of funds.
• Participate in the budgeting process and ensure that the company budget is monitored throughout the year.
• Ensure assets are recorded with completeness, tagged, regularly updated with disposals and acquisition and depreciation is run regularly
• Work with the Loan/Treasury manager and Banking & Cash Associate to advise on investment, banking, and cash management

TEAM ADMINISTRATION & LEADERSHIP (20%)

• Supervise all in-country finance staff, including hiring/discipling, setting annual goals, capacity building
• Ensure department efficiency, and propose group-wide areas for continual improvement
• Liaise with cross-functional teams (IT, investment, BGS, MEL, etc) to provide excellent customer service, increase effectiveness, and ensure they understand finance policies and processes and comply with them.
• Provide support to the Finance colleagues, Managing Director, or CEO/COO 
• Benchmarking exercises to keep at par with the best practices within the fintech and industry standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Successful candidates will have both technical skills in finance, plus alignment with company vision and values. Successful candidates must navigate fast-paced environments with enthusiasm and incredible attention to details.  Minimum qualifications include:

• University degree (BA or Masters) in accounting, finance, or related field 
• Professional qualification (CPA or ACCA) is required
• At least 10 years of work experience in accounting and finance or other relevant field
• At least 3 years managing a Finance Department. 
• Fintech experience preferred
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and financial modeling/budgeting
• Skills in using accounting softwares, Odoo preferred
• Technical competence and experience  applying IFRS
• Excellent knowledge of Country’s applicable tax, legal & regulatory framework 
• Ability to assess risks and exercise reasonable judgment in making decisions.
• Analytical and financial reporting skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently with the highest personal integrity

About the Opportunity

• Inkomoko is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Financial Planning and Analysis to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the CFO, the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, will be responsible for leading the financial planning and analysis function across all countries within the organization
• The primary goal will be to oversee the Organization's financial activities and provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

FINANCIAL PLANNING, & ANALYSIS (40% time)

• Lead the financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning. 
• Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making and strategic initiatives. 
• Prepare regular financial reports and analyze them for senior management and the board of directors. 
• Analyze key performance indicators and provide insights to optimize performance and achieve financial targets. 
• Collaborate with department heads to analyze and interpret financial data for business planning. 
• Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes to assess potential impacts on the Organization's financial position. 
• Lead the annual budgeting process and provide variance analysis. 
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue enhancement. 
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies. 

TREASURY PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT  (30%)

• Monitor and manage the organization's cash flow to ensure there is enough liquidity for day-to-day operations and to meet financial obligations. 
• Manage all aspects of the Organization's treasury function, including cash management, cash forecasting, liquidity management, and risk management. 
• Assess and mitigate financial risks such as interest rate risks, foreign exchange risks, and liquidity risks to protect the organization's financial health. 
• Develop and implement investment strategies to optimize returns on excess cash and ensure the organization's financial stability. 
• Develop and implement treasury policies and procedures to ensure effective cash flow management and financial stability. 
• Manage the organization's capital structure by determining the appropriate mix of debt and equity to achieve the organization's financial goals. 
• Monitor and analyze financial market trends to optimize investment strategies and minimize financial risks. 
• Collaborate with internal teams to support strategic initiatives and provide financial insights and recommendations. 
• Oversee relationships with banking partners and financial institutions to negotiate favorable terms and maintain strong banking relationships. 

LEADERSHIP & OPERATIONS (30% time)

• Supervise the Treasury, Budgeting and Grant Reporting Managers to ensure smooth and coordinated financial operations 
• Develop finance team capacity and performance management;
• Liaise with department directors to plan, report, and guide in effective financial management; serve as a member of various leadership teams.
• Engage in a process of continuous improvement of the Finance Department, ensuring Inkomoko finance operations are lean, effective, and reflecting our changing programs

Minimum Qualifications

• The leader poised for success in this role will have technical skills in finance, plus alignment with company vision/values, and ability to lead a technical team.
• Successful candidates must navigate fast-paced environments with enthusiasm and incredible attention to detail.

Minimum qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. MBA, CPA or CFA designations preferred. 
• Ten-plus years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in the banking or financial services industry. 
• Strong proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting. 
• Strong knowledge of treasury best practices, financial markets, and risk management techniques.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial software systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. 
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. 
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across departments. 
• Experience with financial systems and tools (e.g., ERP systems, BI tools). 
• Proven ability to manage and develop a team of financial professionals. 

About the Opportunity

Inkomoko is seeking an exceptional Business Associate to help drive our market linkages services to our more than 40,000 MSME clients.  This role will entail building strategic relationships with buyers in different industry sectors, including INGOs, public institutions, and private organizations.

The Business Associate will be responsible for interact with the local business community, look out for market opportunities suitable for our clients, and build lasting relationships with local buyers, engaging with existing and new buyers, and connecting them with our MSME clients. S/HE will also support tender distribution service and help to integrate 50 MSMEs into value chains, with a focus on helping micro and small-scale producers acquire product certification from relevant government institutions.

Specific tasks include:

Responsibilities

• Buyer engagement: 30% : Identify and cultivate relationships with existing and new buyers to expand sales opportunities for our MSME clients; facilitate connections between buyers and our MSME clients.  Level of effort 
• Tender distribution: Support 15%: the pilot tender distribution service for small and medium clients. This will include providing training on bid preparation and application. Level of Effort 
• MSME integration into formal value chains: 15%: support efforts to integrate MSMEs, especially micro and small-scale producers, into formal value chains; this will involve collaborating with relevant government institutions and stakeholders to facilitate the acquisition of product certification for select- MSME clients. Level of effort 
• Market research 20%: Research and meet potential buyers in the local and regional markets, work will involve meeting buyers in various sectors, understanding their supply and procurement needs. This includes; undertaking data collection. Level of effort.
• Collaboration with Programs Manager 20%: Work closely with the Programs Manager to align market linkages activities with the overall Business Growth Services strategy; generate and share insights and recommendations to contribute to the development of meaningful market linkages services for our clients. Level of effort

Minimum Qualifications

The ideal candidate will fulfill the following requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field 
• 2+ years experience in sales and marketing working with MSMEs is preferred.
• Past experience on Market linkages, fostering value chain integration will be an added advantage
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong computer skills including word, excel, powerpoint 
• Exceptional business acumen
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships with buyers
• Previous understanding of tender and procurement processes - bid preparation and application process would be a huge plus 
• Strong work and collaboration skills.
