Job purpose

The site in charge should provide overall leadership and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the DREAMS program at the implementation site. The Site-in-Charge should ensure that LVCT Health interests and programmes are represented in local and sub-county stakeholders meeting.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Service delivery

•  Coordinate the enrolment of AGYW into the program and implementation of the program targets
•  Coordinate service provision to ensure that the enrolled AGYWs receive the primary services
•  Plan, coordinate and support the provision of the DREAMS layered package of services segregated by age
•  Ensure all AGYW who are HIV positive are linked to care and treatment
•  Facilitate initiation and retention of AGYW PrEP to eligible AGYW in accordance with the national guidelines
•  Facilitate the formation of the Community Advisory Board (CAB) and convene quarterly meetings or when need be
•  Development of weekly and monthly work plan to facilitate the execution of DREAMS activities
•  Develop monthly site budgets in line with the work plan and intervention costs
•  Facilitate and ensure timely liquidations of cash disbursements and cash equivalences
•  Coordinate the filling, checking, and timely submission of pay forms and other site financial obligations to finance
•  Plan, communicate, and schedule leave for site staff
•  Provide leadership in the management of all the organizational resources allocated in the site
•  Collate and prepare monthly progress reports, share with supervisor and M&E officer for review
•  Prepare and submit relevant sub-county and external reports to appropriate stakeholders
•  Provide support in collation, analysis, and utilization of data for decision making
•  Provide routine support supervision
•  Take lead in coordinating and implementing continuous quality improvement activities
•  Ensure documentation and sharing of program success stories
•  Coordinate and supervise timely and accurate data collection and updating into the DREAMS database. This includes data cleanup and validation activities
•  Ensure that service providers have all-round knowledge and skills to deliver the intervention by building their capacity through mentorship, on-job training, and delegation of tasks
•  Take leadership in AGYW engagement initiatives
•  Facilitate identification and engagement of public-private partnerships and stakeholders
•  Develop abstracts, posters, and conference presentation
•  Ensure documentation and sharing of program success stories
•  Participate in sub-county meetings and activities that are in line with the program goals, working in liaison with your supervisor
•  Communicate the organization's strategic directions, vision, value, and policies to site staff on an ongoing basis

REQUIREMENTS

•  Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Social Work, Community Development, Humanities and Social Sciences.
•  4 years’ experience in DREAMS or OVC settings.
•  Proven community mobilization skills, including engagement with schools' local administrators.
•  Familiar with and experience working with Government bodies, particularly MOE, MOH, NASCOP, NACC, and other relevant departments.
•  Details-oriented and proficient in computer packages.
•  Coordinating and people management skills; able to plan, set priorities, and follow up.

Job purpose

The Accountant will be directly responsible for the financial management, accounting and sound internal controls system of LVCT Group.

Roles and responsibilities

Finance

• Compilation of accurate financial reports for stakeholders including the Management Team, Directors and Board of Directors.
• Prepare business performance forecasts that will inform on the financial stability of the enterprise and advise the management and the Board of Directors accordingly.
• Develop pricing tools and models for the services/goods provided by the enterprise
• Provides guidance on the cost pricing of the services/goods to maximize on returns and ensures that they make business sense
• Cashflow management including compilation of monthly cash flow projections in a bid to ensure availability of adequate cash to meet the Enterprise’s programmed obligations and commitments.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and other reports, including analytical review and in-depth analysis
• Review the teams’ targets verses actual performance for guiding performance bonus calculations as applicable
• Ensure that monthly bank and Petty cash reconciliations are prepared on a timely and accurate basis.
• Support the month-end financial reporting closing procedures by ensuring that all monthly transactions are posted in the accounting system before the cut-off date.
• Collaboratively work with the teams to ensure month-end and year-end closing procedures are carried out according to the laid down procedures.

Accounting function

• Review and approve all purchase requests ensuring adequacy of budgets.
• Monitor and ensure that the General Ledger is updated on a continuous basis through daily posting of transactions.
• Ensure that all provided services are invoiced, paid for and receipted on a timely and accurate manner.
• Staff Imprest management, ensuring that imprest accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis, liquidated according to the policies, compile and share accurate aged analysis for decision making. Ensure the payments are processed on a timely and accurate basis, including reviewing and uploading to banking platform.
• Vendor management, ensuring all invoices are received and paid on a timely basis.
• Debtors/Receivables management, ensuring all receivables are paid on a timely and accurate basis.
• Prepare monthly Payable and Receivable’s aged analysis reports and ensure necessary action is taken.
• Reviews Payrolls for temporary hires for accuracy ensuring that payments are supported by executed contracts and Activity Logs.

Budgets

• Preparation of annual budgets for approval by the management and Board of Directors.
• Ensure the approved budgets are uploaded in the accounting system as applicable.
• Preparation of budget performance reports for the management and the board of directors for decision making.
• Supports the teams in developing budgets for emerging business opportunities/proposals and in developing and monitoring of activity budgets ensuring use of correct budget template and cost factors.
• Capacity building of the team on budget development and monitoring.
• Preparation and dissemination of monthly budget verses expenditure reports.

Systems

• Enhance the internal control system through development of Policies, SOPs and reporting Templates and sensitization the teams on the same. Review the business processes to ensure optimization of efficiencies and client’s satisfaction.

Education/Experience Requirements:

• University Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field from a recognized university.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPAK)/ACCA.
• Minimum of 5 years’ post qualification experience in a private sector busy Finance /Accounting environment.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks. Use of ERP Dynamics 365 Business Central is an added advantage.
• Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables, vlookups etc.) and analytical skills.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to finance and operations aspects of the organization, including general administrative processes, financial management, accounting and logistics.
• Establish and maintain sound and transparent accounting and fiscal control procedures for financial, sub award and operations aspects of project.

Required Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field relevant to the position requirements.
• Professional certification (CPA) is a requirement and a member of ICPAK.
• At least 7 years of experience overseeing grantee compliance for large multi-million funded projects, at least 3 years of experience working with US government contract mechanisms
• At least 7 years of experience in financial management for large complex projects, overseeing overall operations of which at least five years were working in the field of international development.
• Demonstrated financial management, analytical and computer skills, with emphasis on budgeting and financial analysis.

Job purpose

To offer program administrative support to the program staff and cluster and ensure delivery of effective operations, coordinate workflow, update and prioritize delegated tasks to ensure progress to deadlines and ensure consistent performance of routine functions.

A. BACKGROUND

LVCT Health is an established Kenyan NGO that utilizes research to inform policy reform, and advocacy and strengthen the equitable delivery of health services to vulnerable and marginalized populations. LVCT Health has a vibrant mental health program that is involved in providing technical support to the public sector and delivering psychosocial interventions. LVCT Health in partnership with the BRAC James P. Grant School of Public Health, the African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC), the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM), the Ministry of Health, Kiambu and Nairobi County Health Departments are implementing a participatory research project in Kenya and Bangladesh funded by the National Institutes for Health Research (NIHR), UK. This research will involve co-developing, piloting, and adapting holistic health systems support package for Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) in both countries with a specific focus on integrating psychosocial support to enhance the well-being and agency among CHVs. LVCT Health is scaling up a strategy to integrate mental interventions in all its programsacross the country. LVCT Health is seeking a Senior Technical Advisor, Mental Health who will provide leadership and technical guidance in generating evidence through research and taking up evidence in mental health programming and policy.

B. JOB PURPOSE

The Senior Technical Advisor will work with the study Principal Investigator, Mental Health teams within LVCT Health, the Ministry of Health, and County Health Departments to co- develop and implement mental health strategies in research and health programs. The holder of this position will be responsible for advancing the mental health strategies within LVCT Health. The Senior Technical Advisor will work with multi-disciplinary partners within LVCT Health, government, communications, policy, and research.

C. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical oversight

• Lead in the development and implementation of psychosocial support intervention(s) within LVCT Health. This will be in both research and health programs across the country, • Lead the design of mental health interventions to be tested in the research project based on literature reviews, • Lead development of training and implementation materials for providing psychosocial support to CHVs and other priority populations identified in LVCT Health’s strategy, • Coordinate training of county teams and key stakeholders on evidence- informed mental health interventions, • Contribute to designing studies and in the development of mental health research protocols, • Participate in implementing mental health research in collaboration with LVCT Health’s partners, • Manage the translation of mental health research into policy and programming.

Project management

• Responsible for delivery of LVCT Health’s agreed outputs within the research project as set out in the agreements, • Work closely with Project Managers within LVCT Health to coordinate partners involved in implementing mental health interventions, • Develop and manage effective relationships and communication pathways with other LVCT Health departments to leverage and strengthen the implementation of mental health research.

Stakeholder management

• Identify local stakeholders for engaging with to ensure the achievement of LVCT Health’s mental health agenda, • Coordinate regular mental health stakeholder workshops, • Prepare and share progress reports with stakeholders, especially MOH and county teams, • Identify opportunities for leveraging other projects within LVCT Health and among other implementing partners.

Monitoring Evaluation and Learning

• Contribute to the development of a theory of change for mental health research and programs, • Facilitate collaborative and innovative learning and knowledge exchange events to share learnings of mental health programming and research.

Documentation and Communication

• Writing policy briefs and other technical documents related to mental health strategies and policy, • Write blogs, abstracts, and peer-reviewed articles for sharing and disseminating LVCT Health’s work in mental health, • Share best practices in mental health and research findings to a variety of stakeholders locally and internationally, • Work with the communications team to promote the project on social media platforms and the LVCT Health website.

E. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

This will be an annual renewable year contract per the LVCT Health service scheme. The candidate will be on probation for the first three (3) months. Compensation for this position is negotiable within a relevant grade, based on educational levels, relevant experience and demonstrated competency. Job purpose

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide overall coordination of the grant portfolio based in Nyeri. The Accounts Assistant will have a broad and deep understanding of the relevant donor rules and regulations and proactively identify compliance risks throughout the grant portfolio. In addition, S/He will work collaboratively with the LVCT Health Juja Office under the Dhibiti project, ensuring that Nyeri County complies with the requirements of the grants. The Accounts Assistant will also develop and embed best practices in accounts management in compliance with donor rules and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurate review of all financial commitments against budgets 
• Accurate and timely preparation and consolidation of financial reports
• Accurate and timely preparation of reconciliation for cash and bank for both inter-office accounts  and out of office
• Timely processing of monthly HRH payroll inputs 
• Proper maintenance and management of all financial documents in an orderly manner
