Job Purpose

  • The Commercial Manager is responsible for the commercial function and Business Development Strategy of the Company
  • Reporting relationship: The position reports to the Managing Director
  • Supervises: The position supervises the commercial department/function staff

Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of this position are: -

  • Processing new customer accounts, Updating the customers register/accounts
  • Coordinate the departmental performance to ensure realization of set targets monthly, quarterly and annually
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports for the department
  • Prepare Board management papers for approval
  • Ensure that all the data with regards to monthly meter readings and payments is entered and verified
  • Liaising with other sections in provision of quality service to customers
  • Ensuring timely billings of all services provided to customers .
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Preparing accurate reports as required
  • Liaising with other sections in provision of quality service to customers
  • Identify training needs for departmental staff
  • Recommend appropriate development opportunities for the departmental staff to address identified needs
  • Addressing promptly to complaints from customers
  • Develop department budget and work plan
  • Mentor and coach departmental staff
  • Identify procurement needs of the department
  • Participate in strategic planning and implementation.
  • Responsible for physical assets assigned by the company
  • Makes strategic, operational and financial decisions for the department
  • Plans the work of subordinates, assigns work to subordinates, monitors subordinates work performance. Appraises/evaluates subordinates performance
  • Work closely with other departments/sections in all areas.
  • Performing any other work other relevant responsibilities as may be assigned by the company

Requirements for Appointment

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Strategic Management or any other Business-related field from a recognized Institution CPA (K), ACCA or relevant professional qualification.
  • Member of a professional body and in good standing
  • Demonstrable ability to prepare various business reports
  • Ability to communicate effectively in diverse work situations
  • 7 years' of work experience with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial or supervisory position.
  • Must be computer literate.
