About This Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Finance Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance department and champion strong financial systems and processes with a rapidly growing volume of transactions and geographically distributed business units. They will also be required to lead the finance department employees, including Senior Finance Officers and Finance Officers. This role will be based in Nairobi, Kenya, with some travel.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the day-to-day financial operations within the company, including payables, payroll, invoicing, and other transactions, with adherence to accounting standards
  • Lead the finance department employees, including Senior Finance Officers and Finance Officers to ensure proper entries, reconciliations, and accurate reporting to management
  • Seek out and recommend methods for minimizing financial risk to the company as well as conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
  • Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company and build strong internal control processes that safeguard assets, revenue, and resources
  • Ensure an ongoing management reporting system that generates timely and accurate reports relevant to decision-making and reporting to investors
  • Conduct reviews, audits, and reconciliations to ensure high data integrity
  • Review and monitor performance versus the budget and reach out to teams to offer advice and guidance where need be
  • Be a great manager to the finance team, and a great coach, and train them to be superstars at their jobs

What You Have

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CPA) with 5+ years working as a Finance Manager, supervising at least two accountants
  • Knowledge of Kenya Tax regulations
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field from a well-recognized university
  • Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills
  • Experience with new system implementation and experience with an ERP system is an added advantage
  • Experience working for fast-growth, rapidly-scaling companies is an added advantage
