For appointment to this grade, an officer must have

• A Diploma in Medical Laboratory sciences /Technology, from a recognized institution.
• Registration Certificate issued by the KMLTTB; and
• Valid practicing license from the KMLTTB;

Duties and Responsibilities:
This is an entry and training grade for this cadre. Duties and responsibilities at this level will include:-

• Sampling and receiving samples;
• Decontaminating working benches’
• Receiving and scrutinizing laboratory requisition forms and specimens
• Preparing and standardizing laboratory reagents and procedures; and
• Receiving, collecting, labelling and registering specimens,
• Disaggregating specimens for processing and and analysis, and performance routine diagnostic tests
