Research Science Analyst

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You will work in our McKinsey Knowledge Center in Nairobi within the Panorama Financial Institutions Center (PFIC). PFIC is one of the largest knowledge and analytics teams globally and part of the FIG practice, with ~230 members and a global footprint across 25+ locations, focusing on financial services domains, e.g., Retail banking, Corporate & Investment Banking, Wealth & Asset Management, Fintech and Insurance.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• You will be expected to help to build and maintain our knowledge assets around banking market sizing; you will also serve clients by leveraging our tools to bring insights around the banking landscape.
• You will have a great opportunity to deepen your understanding of the financial sector worldwide, to further build your data management and analytical skills, and to work in a dynamic business environment; you will receive exceptional training as well as frequent coaching and mentoring from more senior colleagues. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility and work closely with internal McKinsey colleagues as well as external clients.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Post-graduation in finance with a stellar academic record throughout their education career
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong analytical capability: dedication to data accuracy, outstanding attention to detail, and ability to synthesize complex relationships
• Experienced user of Excel; R/Python/other advanced analytics tool or programming knowledge is a plus
• Basic understanding of banking economics and macroeconomics; familiarity with banks’ financial reports is a plus
