Under the direct supervision of the Sales Manager AFM Sub-Sahara Africa, The Sales Manager East Africa will be responsible for leading and directing the sales strategy for East African Countries. In addition, the sales manager is responsible for managing all customer programs that revolve around pricing, revenue growth, profitability, design, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops (through consensus of cross-functional team and senior management) and deploys a comprehensive aftermarket strategy (inclusive of business plans) which achieves strategic alignment of the customer's key issues/initiatives and those of Eaton VG
  • Functions as key focal point for all strategic customer issues.
  • Provides customer interface strategy (points of contacts, frequency) and builds strong rapport with key customer decision-makers.
  • Articulates clear understanding of current/future targets for relevant product market shares, competitive positioning, pricing strategies and standard profits which achieve Eaton's expectations.
  • Monitors market dynamics (global and regional) including customer and competitor developments, and recommends strategies to counteract these pressures to senior management.
  • Articulates, Develops (in consensus with product strategy managers) and deploys comprehensive pricing, channels and products strategies which are market driven, based on value provided, and the competitive landscape.
  • Under the supervision of theSales Mgr AFM Sub-Sahara Africa, will set the pricing strategies, which will include an analytical approach, must support Eaton's long-term financial targets, and provide “consistent pricing”.
  • The AFM Manager will be responsible for total customer satisfaction for OEM and IAM customers.
  • He/she will establish and executes the customer relationship review process and corrective action plans, as appropriate. Under the supervision of Sales Mgr AFM Sub-Sahara Africa, He/she will Identify products suitable to be positioned by Eaton into Aftermarket
  • Collaborate with the VG business units and with the Global Aftermarket Organization to align on key opportunities. Leverage project management skills to ensure key opportunities are executed in a timely fashion.
  • Assures account team’s compliance with QS9000 procedures, manages expenditures to annual budget.
  • Successfully negotiates terms and conditions of sale which are favourable to Eaton and achieve consistency (or manages the differences between different countries): (Warranty, payment terms, co-development funding, etc.)
  • Daily interface with customer, operations, engineering and senior management.

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS degree in Engineering, Business or other approved discipline.
  • At least 5 years of sales experience in Automotive parts industry
  • Financial Skills: P&L, Cost estimating, Pricing
  • East Africa CV Market and Customer Knowledge
  • Value Proposition Design & Communication
  • Fluent English
