Job Overview

Deliver specific complex accounting tasks to ensure timely and accurate accounting in accordance with IQVIA Finance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), Sarbanes Oxley rules as well as local GAAP and tax rules.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for general financial accounting activities of the organization primarily interpreting accounting data and preparing journal entries
  • General accounting duties in connection with closing the books each month, general ledger maintenance, financial reporting
  • Act as contact person for external audits. Ensure that all financial and accounting records are thoroughly maintained in preparation for independent audits.
  • Prepare annual statutory accounts and other compliance related activities
  • Revenue and asset accounting
  • Supervise all accounting processes including pays supplier invoices and collects customer/intercompany remittances.
  • Establish reasonable internal controls and maintain adequate and current documentation of the systems of internal control.
  • Ensure that all processes and decisions are in line with IQVIA SOP's and local legal/statutory requirements.
  • Act as contact person with tax consultants and tax authorities eg. KRA and Ghana Revenue Authorities.
  • Where applicable, ensure appropriate communication with all business partners and support business partners in financial decisions, if required.
  • Review the financial systems, process and procedures on an ongoing basis for further development of efficiencies
  • Manage timely completion of detailed account reconciliation and follow-up/resolve open items for specified tasks.
  • Cost analysis
  • Maintain a solid working knowledge of technical accounting skills.
  • Participate in or manage Finance related projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to identify financial issues and execute mitigating actions.
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple work requirements to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and clients.
