Key Responsibilities:

Towards the delivery of World Vision’s global strategy, “Our Promise to children”, the Technical Director for Governance and Social Accountability provides strategic and technical leadership for the quality implementation, scale, adaptation and impact of World Vision’s Social Accountability and Local Advocacy programming, Citizen Voice and Action (CVA) used in more than 600 programmes across more than 40 countries.  She/he will help Global Field Operations to strategically scale social accountability by leveraging existing and new resources and capacity, oversee collaboration with Field Offices and Technical teams to design and implement technical guidance that reflects best practice in the field, innovate and adapt to remain relevant and provide approaches to strengthen staff and partner capabilities for different contexts.

This position will champion vertical integration supported by civic tech, overseeing field, regional and global stakeholder to leverage and use community/citizen data generated through World Vision’s social accountability programming to influence national, regional and international policy dialogue, strengthening World Vision’s contribution to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals for the wellbeing of the most vulnerable children in all contexts. In addition, the Technical Director will manage the development of key research partnerships with world-class research institutions and provide technical leadership for the delivery of strategic research that contributes to WV’s global efforts to improve the quality and use of evidence of impact as well as external and internal thought leadership.  The position will supervise the acceleration of grant acquisition for governance and social accountability, ensuring WV is on top of donor interest and changing landscape and leads WV's external engagement with major multilateral partners including the World Bank and Support offices (SOs) in their outreach to bilateral and multilateral partners.  

The Technical Director manages and supports an effective Social Accountability Unit and Social Accountability Leadership Team. She/he reports to Ministry Integration (through the Senior Director for Transformational Development) and will work closely with relevant teams in Advocacy and External Engagement, contributing to shared KPIs, planning and management meetings.
