USAID Tujenge Jamii is an award project being implemented by Deloitte and Touché, FHI 360 and Goldstar Kenya. The core vision of USAID Tujenge Jamii (UTJ) is to create a county owned, county led, and county managed integrated platform for delivery of HIV, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH), Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and Nutrition services, with close collaboration between health facilities and communities. The project works in Nakuru, Baringo, Laikipia and Samburu counties: In Nakuru County, the project is implementing HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment Services, RMNCAH, WASH and Nutrition, while in Baringo, Laikipia and Samburu counties, the project is implementing HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment Services only.

We are seeking to fill the Position of Roving RH Clinical Mentor on a fixed term (9 Months) to be based in Nakuru.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide technical support in the implementation of RMNCH/FP activities. The Family Planning/ Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health FP/RMNCAH) Mentor will co-located at the county/sub-county level and provide hands on support and technical assistance to the County/Sub County Health Management Team (C/SCHMT) to strengthen the quality and utilization of reproductive, maternal, neonatal, child, and adolescent health services
Key Responsibilities
Support SCHMTs to provide quality clinical RH services at MCH and Maternity Units as per the national guidelines and standards. Support other service providers in the health facility by recommending innovative approaches to quality RH services including respectful maternity care, group ANC model of care, EPI and targeted outreaches, in accordance with the MOH guidelines. Mentor other service providers in MCH and maternity attending to children, family planning, pregnant and/or breastfeeding women. Liaise with other project staff working in the community to address issues of defaulter tracing and social determinants of health to mitigate the impact of those infected and affected by HIV along the RMNCH/FP continuum to include PMTCT. Strengthen linkages and referrals within and between health facilities. Ensure quality of care for all patients seeking services through hands-on mentorship and trainee/mentee follow up. Through trainee/mentee follow up, ensure the documentation of appropriate services rendered to patients is done in the relevant service registers and electronic medical records (EMR). Support RH/HIV/MNCH service integration Strengthen data reviews and use for decision making
Knowledge and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree with 2 years’ relevant experience in successful field implementation of RH/FP/MNCH programs in Kenya. Must be a Registered Nurse with valid practice license At least 2 years’ experience in successful field implementation of RH/FP/ MNCAH programs in Kenya. (Experience in Long-acting contraceptives reversible and permanent, added advantage). Demonstrated skills in integration of RH/FP/MNCAH with other health areas such as HIV and TB Demonstrated skills in designing and rolling out GoK-endorsed approaches that result in improved uptake of services for family planning, reproductive health and maternal health. Up-to-date knowledge on Family Planning, Focused Antenatal Care, EmONC, EPI, IMNCI & PMTCT, Cervical Cancer Screening, supportive supervision, and quality improvement systems
Skills in conducting data quality audits and coaching for improved data performance Knowledge and skills in online reporting platforms and/or statistical packages. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, advanced Excel, and PowerPoint).
Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the guidance of the project SBCC Technical Officer, manager the Associate Technical Officer -WaSH, provides technical oversight to the overall project WaSH interventions. S/he will oversee integration of WaSH interventions within the HIV/RMNCAH program. The ATO-WaSH will support a broad range of WaSH project management activities, including design, planning, implementation and evaluation. The position holder will also undertake reporting, technical thought leadership, documentation of best practices and success stories and facilitation of knowledge sharing among relevant stakeholders. S/he will work closely with the department of health services in the County to support and ensure WaSH system strengthening.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership and direction for integrated WaSH interventions as per programming needs and standards.
Timely planning, execution, monitoring and reporting on WaSH activities as per the USAID Tujenge Jamii project mandate.
Ensure effective communication and coordination for integrated WaSH interventions with and among Sub-County stakeholders including but not limited to MOH and MOE to maintain an active and engaged partnership.
Provide technical assistance for WaSH systems strengthening, facilitate capacity building, document and share knowledge and lessons learned through relevant forums and platforms.
Strengthen WaSH coordination platforms and ensure appropriate representation at key partner National, County and Sub-County WaSH TWGs, events and meetings.
Participate in discussions, prepare and deliver presentations, etc.
Develop strategies and plans to implement integrated WaSH programs and support grassroots organizations such community based organizations for their capacity building, including their progress monitoring and reporting.
Oversee, monitor and support the progress of integration of WaSH into HIV/RMNCAH activities.
Ensure quality of all project WaSH deliverables and present program results, based on solid M&E procedures to USAID Tujenge Jamii project partners at County and Sub-County level and other platforms as required.
Contribute to the WaSH knowledge management through documentation, presentation of best practices, provision of information on the WaSH project activities among others.
Take up any other assignments as may be delegated by the supervisor and the project management.
Desirable/qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health or Public Health.
Over 5 years of experience working in water, sanitation and hygiene or child survival program, with experience in participatory methodologies and sanitation marketing.
Demonstrated experience in WaSH systems strengthening.
Knowledge and experience designing and implementing sanitation and hygiene behaviour change communication strategies. Experience in providing technical assistance.
