Key Responsibilities

  • ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­The successful candidate will report into the Executive Director – New Operations and Performance and will work closely with stakeholders across the Institute as well as with external partners to develop a learning curriculum for Advisory globally as well as manage knowledge management systems.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Design and implement a Learning and Knowledge Strategy to equip our Advisory division with the tools and resources to deliver our value proposition and functional expertise in strategy, policy and delivery, enabled by technology, with excellence.
  • Create a best-in-class induction program for TBI’s Advisory new team members, providing them with the organisational knowledge, sectoral expertise and technical skills in order to excel in their role.
  • Create high quality, in-depth learning modules relating to TBI’s sectoral practices – energy and climate, economic prosperity, peace and security, and health.
  • Support the development of a knowledge management system, using emerging technologies and integrated with core TBI systems, working closely with internal Technology teams. The system will be scalable, easy access and a collaborative space where team members can share with one another.
  • Capture institutional knowledge, working closely with teams across the Institute to facilitate contribution to a learning culture which effectively captures and draws insight from lessons learnt, allowing for continuous improvement.
  • Create and track metrics, measuring training outcomes, engagement and participation, training effectiveness and impact, that inform strategic decision-making.
  • Identify and contract key partnerships with external stakeholders who will support in designing and delivering content from the Learning and Knowledge syllabus.
  • Build and manage a high performing team, that will be the global focal point of an invigorated learning culture at TBI, creating inspiring content that captures the uniqueness of TBI and supports our differentiated market position.

Person Specification
The Director for Learning and Knowledge will be experienced and successful leader:

  • Extensive leadership experience working in knowledge management, instructional design and organisational development.
  •  Exceptional interpersonal skills, with an ability to build relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
  •  A strategic and entrepreneurial mindset, to challenge the status quo and lead the organisation to achieve its ambitious learning and knowledge agenda.
  •  Ability to codify problems and navigate complexity, distilling challenging problems into priority outcomes with.
  •  Experience working in a professional services, advisory or consulting firm, with a focus on government and political clients.
  •  Outstanding leadership and management skills and the proven ability to build and inspire teams to achieve exceptional objectives.
  •  Skilled communications and influencing, from executive level through to technical level. Adept at speaking to senior leadership, and an understanding of how to navigate complex environments.
  •  Competency working across different learning platforms (e.g. Sharepoint), including virtual and face-to-face.
  •  Proven ability to use tech as an enabler of learning and knowledge management, including a practical understanding of how generative AI and other emerging technologies can enhance knowledge systems.
