Purpose of the role

  • We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall financial strategy of DDD Kenya. Duties cover the full spectrum of finance operations, budgeting and forecasting, preparation of management accounts, cash flow management and auditing. This role involves liaising with departments across the business lines, guiding senior executives in making sound business decisions in the long and short term.

Job Description

  • Oversee the financial operations of the company in line with our strategic goals and social mission.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, including monthly/quarterly financial statements, cash flow analyses, and forecasts.
  • Participate in decision-making processes concerning company strategies and operations, advising on the financial implications of business decisions.
  • Implement robust financial management frameworks, processes, and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Develop and manage budgets in collaboration with department heads.
  • Work closely with the management team to optimize financial performance and strategic position.
  • Analyse the company's financial performance and pinpoint areas for potential improvement.
  • Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision-making.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field. A master's degree or professional qualification (such as CPA or CFA) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
  • Experience with financial management within the tech or digital industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced skills in Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes.
  • Outstanding strategic planning skills and the ability to balance short-term needs with long-term goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
