Reporting to the National Operations Manager, the Fire Services Manager will ensure effective

management of the Emergency Response services; management of the financial performance and ensuring operational efficiency of the business operations in order to meet agreed upon customer service levels.

Responsibilities

  • Effective management of the Emergency Response services including operations; and ensuring Quality Operation Process management
  • Ensuring maximum and efficient utilization of key resources allocated for the business operations including manpower, motor vehicles and other equipment
  • Coordinate the provision of contractual and ad hoc security services to ensure that they are executed profitably and in compliance to standardized business practices
  • Manage allocation of resources appropriately to ensure operational demands are met and ensure there is adequate succession planning to meet ongoing and anticipated business requirement
  • Maintain excellent employee motivation, performance management and engagement
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities in area sphere of operations through an integrated security solutions approach
  • Maximize organic growth within existing clients; targeting and exploiting business growth opportunities
  • Ensure labour efficiency controls e.g. optimal establishment, overtime control, proper billing by confirming the accuracy of the A-Register
  • Make regular liaison and schedule meetings with customers while addressing customer requests and complaints promptly
  • Ensure that all assignments have post instructions and emergency procedures and that the staffs deployed are properly trained and equipped to undertake assignments
  • Ensure performance contracts are in place and regular goal reviews completed to assess achievement of results.
  • Provide support, coaching (train) and mentoring continuously to ensure that objectives are met.
  • Ensure that events/activities taking place within the division and outside the division lines are effectively communicated within the team and to other teams requiring the information
  • Ensure statutory and company guidelines are enforced in relation to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and Human Resource

Ideal candidate:

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Tertiary education in a business related field, and any other relevant qualification
  • Knowledge of emergency response systems and operation
  • At least 5 years’ experience in senior position in the fire protection industry

Proven business acumen

  • Must have initiative and ability to make sound and commercially viable decisions in emergency response systems
  • Must be able to work under pressure and for long hours
  • Must be able to work under minimum supervision
