Purpose of the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Impact Manager to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. As an Impact Manager; you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring our impact strategy, ensuring that our social objectives align with our business goals. The successful candidate will have a passion for social impact, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of managing social programs.

Job Description

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive impact strategy to maximize and scale our social and environmental impact, in line with DDD's mission and vision.
  • Design and execute monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure the effectiveness of our programs and their alignment with our social objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement innovative solutions that address the needs of our beneficiaries and contribute to the growth of the organization.
  • Manage relationships with key partners, including NGOs, government agencies, and donors, to build strategic alliances and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
  • Prepare regular reports on program performance and impact for senior management, the Board of Directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage budgets for social impact programs and initiatives.
  • Lead and support a team of impact professionals, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure their professional development and growth.
  • Represent DDD at conferences, workshops, and other events to raise awareness of our social impact initiatives and share best practices.
  • Support and assist senior management on fundraising activities.
  • Perform any other tasks as required by management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, International Development, or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in social impact, program management, or a related field, with a focus on digital inclusion, youth empowerment, or community development.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating social impact programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Swahili or other local languages is a plus.
