Job Objective

  • Responsible for developing, growing and managing customer relationships and for increasing the Bank’s revenue through marketing of the banks products and services to identified Commercial Customers. Additionally, to develop and maintain positive customer relationships, oversee the marketing of the Bank’s products and services and ensure maximum profitability.
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers with the aim of selling the Bank’s products to the commercial institutions.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility for the management of own portfolio of customers ensuring that they receive the appropriate level of service and advice to meet their specific needs
  • Play a key role in client acquisition and management of existing client relationships consistent with the Bank’s strategy in-order to achieve desired quality business growth
  • Enhance client retention by providing a one-stop point of contact for all the client’s needs and requirements while providing world class customer service
  • Maintain, acquire and reactivate customer relationships to improve deposit liability growth and mix.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analyses within marketing area and strategize plans that will give the bank a large part of the market within its vicinity
  • Ensure effective relationship management for existing customers and build new relationships
  • Maximize account profitability by selling other products and services to the bank’s customers
  • Identify and develop conglomerate banking relationships
  • Ensure proper documentation throughout the credit application and availment process
  • Achieve set deposit targets / Contributions by acquiring business / investment deals from Private, Public, Individuals and Corporates
  • Sell / Cross-sell and Upsell the banks products.
  • Market the brand.
  • Maintain comprehensive database of the customers operational records including the existing and prospective customer data.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Head of Commercial Banking

  • % Reduction in dormant accounts
  • Customer Retention Index
  • Timeliness in delivering revenue generation reports
  • Number of Commercial accounts opened
  • Timeliness & effectiveness in completion of assigned tasks
  • Efficiency level at executing scheduled and ad hoc assignments
  • Effectiveness in establishing new relationships

Job Requirements

  • First degree in any field from a recognized university.
  • Preferably have a second degree or relevant professional certification (as an added advantage).
  • Excellent banking knowledge with a minimum of Four (4) years in Relationship Management/Marketing Experince and also Credit Experience with a leading industry player.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Good understanding of financial services sector
  • Ability to evaluate needs of customers and determine what products or service would best serve those needs.

  • Dynamic, analytical and a self-driven individual with the ability to work under pressure, maintaining a professional and helpful attitude at all times.
  • Strong networking skills, for both internal and external networks.
  • Relationship Management skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
