Position requirements: -

1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
2. Must possess training in Medical/Nursing Education.
3. A Masters Degree in Nursing will be an added advantage.
4. Registered with Nursing Council of Kenya.
5. At least 2 years experience as a Nurse Tutor.

Dutiesand responsibilities:

1. Responsible for planning and implementation of teaching programmes in the training curriculum.
2. Overall supervision of clinical teaching programme subjects in hospital/community health setting.
3. Demonstrate and teach patient care in a classroom and clinical units to nursing students.
4. Prepare and deliver lectures to students on nursing care practices.
5. Prepare course materials such as syllabus, assignments and handouts.
6. Conduct theory and practical tests and evaluation of students assignments and performance.
7. Maintain classroom equipment, supplies and teaching aids,
8. Assist in the administration of the School of Nursing,
9. Shall carry out any other duties assigned by the Principal School of Nursing.

Essential Qualifications

• Diploma in Pharmacy.
• Enrolled with Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
• Minimum of 2 years experience.
• Must have high standards of integrity and ethical practice.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Dispensing drugs to both in-patient and out-patients.
• Ordering drugs from the main drugs store
• Doing weekly stock checkups.
• Billing and dispensing prescriptions in the HMIS.
• Advising and counseling the patients on drug use.
• Compiling and submission of reports
• Receives supplies from suppliers, verifies and stores

The Hospital wishes to sponsor Nurses and HCAs for the above training. This is a three months training that will be held in the Eye Unit from 12th April 2023 to 30th June 2023.

Qualifications

Nurse

• KECHN or Diploma in KRN/M, KRCHN
• Have worked in the Hospital for a minimum of three years.
• Have an interest in working in the Eye Unit.

HCA

• Certificate in Patient Attendant Course or its equivalent.
• Have worked in the Hospital for a minimum of three years of which at least one year should be in Eye Unit.
• Have an interest in working in the Eye Unit.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Conducts routine maintenance procedures for assigned equipment as set by the task requirement for particular equipment and installations.
• Ensures all Bio Medical equipment are in good working condition and available to the users at all times.
• Prepares a Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule and executes it for all hospital equipment.
• Ensures that all hospital equipments are in good working condition at all times.
• Troubleshoots and prepares detailed report to the Maintenance In-charge for action on the repairs / spare parts required to fix equipment.
• Responsible for all repairs and maintenance tools and materials in their custody.
• Observes and implements all requisite safety procedures and measures.
• Implements and maintains ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Provision of quality medical services: The job holder ensures that the medical services provided to both the inpatients and outpatients is professionally outstanding and complies with the set medical standards and policies of the Hospital.
• Management and Administration: Ensures that the medical department operations are efficient and cost effective.

· Promoting quality of healthcare: Spearheads the provision of quality healthcare in line with international best practice and approved medical standards.

• Nursing Services: Ensures that the nursing staff strictly adhere to their code of conduct when undertaking their duties and promote patient satisfaction and safety by ensuring provision of high standards of health care.
• Hospital Development planning: Participates in the Hospital development planning by providing the medical component input to the institution strategic plan.
• Policies and procedures: Ensures compliance to the international best practices in the medical field as well as to the local medical standards, regulations and policies that are in force from time to time. This includes but not limited to medical professional ethics.

· Leadership: Provides exemplary leadership to the medical team and technically guides them when handling difficulty cases.

• Recruitment*:* Participates in recruitment of medical staff.
• People Management: Creates conducive working environment through consultation with the Human Resource section.

· Compliance*:* Ensures at all times the medical professionals comply with related regulations, laws, procedures and policies.

• Supervision: The Chief Medical Officer has the overall supervisory responsibility over all the Medical Units

· Drugs Management and Supplies: Regularly reviews the Hospital formulary system in consultation with Clinicians and Pharmacists.

• A Master’s degree in a Medical Specialty with Specialist Recognition Certificate from the KMPDC.
• At least 6 years post registration experience in the area of medical specialty, three of which should be in a Senior Management position of a busy hospital.
• A degree in Administration/Management or related field will be an added advantage
• Clinical risk management experience
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
• Good organizational and analytical skills
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• Reconciliation of revenue received with the shift report on daily basis.
• Prints and issues credit slips for cooperate clients.
• Clears patients for discharge upon payment of final bill.
• Billing of consultation fees for inpatients and account paying clients.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Participates in identification and recruitment of candidates with the relevant competencies to enhance the business competitive advantage.
• In liaison with the HR Manager, prepares adverts, reviews applications and carries out shortlisting for vacant positions.
• Participates in planning, documentation, preparation and scheduling of shortlisted candidates during interviews.
• Coordinates training plans and other capacity development & welfare programmes.
• Prepares and shares training reports with the Human Resource Manager.
• Assists with HR Compliance, Audits and other HR Administration duties.
• Planning and executing employee engagement activities as per calendar of events.
• Assists in preparation of documentation and scheduling of staff disciplinary cases.
• Supervises Payroll Officer and Human Resource Assistant.
• In liaison with the Human Resource Manager, advises and ensures that the payroll is updated with relevant changes and emoluments are paid on time.
• Assists the Human Resource Manager in preparing the necessary HR reports
• In liaison with the Human Resource Manager,handles all administrative tasks of the HR section.
• Participates in updating the HR policy and procedure manual, review and monitoring of human resource processes.
• Manages staff onboarding and orientation programing liaison with the Human Resource Manager.
• Manages the staff exit process and prepares analytical reports.
• Manages staff records/database.
• Participates in implementation of the ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
• Masters Degree in a relevant discipline.

• Must have a minimum of 5yrs in Nursing Practice at a senior level.

• Regularly reviewing the Curriculum to ensure compliance to the Nursing Council of Kenya guidelines.

• Incharge of supervision and mentorship of Tutors and Clinical Instructors.
• Guidance and counselling of students
• Supervision of living conditions of students in the hostels.
• Participate in procurement of equipment and supplies for use in the school.
• Supervision of library services.
• Liaison with and ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies.
• General administration of the school of nursing.
